HOW WE DO IT: EXECUTIVE COACHING
Executive Velocity provides an extremely personal, in-depth suite of executive coaching services that delve into a variety of topics encompassing both work and personal issues. As such, we approach each new client engagement using proven tools to create a customized framework that becomes a program focused on your particular vision of personal and professional success. Ultimately, we help merge the multiple desired outcomes of the individual and the organization so that a win-win balance is created to everyone's benefit.
Our steps to success are:
- Initial meeting with corporate leaders to determine (1) vital leadership needs, (2) the needs of the organization and (3) the goals to be achieved via the coaching process.
- Assessment of the individual(s) to be coached via one or more of our select assessment tools such as:
- The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, a personality inventory that helps people understand their own preferences as well as those of members of their organization;
- The Hogan Personality Inventory, the industry standard for measuring personality and successfully predicting employee performance;
- Shadowing, where a member of our team follows the client throughout a typical business day, observing interactions and communication styles;
- 360-degree feedback, which allows input and opinions from employees at all levels who come in contact with the individuals being coached, thus creating another way of benchmarking behaviors;
- Interviewing key stakeholders, an assessment tool similar to a 360-degree feedback process. However, it is more ideally suited to smaller companies.
- Plan Development, which includes creating a personalized coaching strategy based on assessment outcomes, coaching goals, and results from EV's Coaching Questionnaire. Initial action steps will be identified for work on key behaviors and skills necessary for continued and greater success as a leader.
- Coaching Engagement conversations that are typically conducted over a 6 to 12 month span are done via teleconference. Prior to each conversation, the coachee completes the Conversation Preparation Form which helps both the coach and coachee maximize the time spent with each other. Each session focuses on the goal of the coachee, accomplishments and learnings from the previous conversation, options on moving forward, and commitment to making specific changes and/or accomplishing certain action steps.
- Feedback provided in ongoing, progressive stages to gauge improvement while constantly testing if the development plan is progressing in a positive manner. An overall evaluation session is typically conducted at 3 to 6 month intervals to gauge tangible outcomes and progress to the stated goals, with adjustments to strategies as needed.
